Welcome to Årslevgård Farm
Welcome to Årslevgård, a proud and traditional farm located in the heart of Årslev in Denmark (6230 Rødekro). Here, you will find an impressive herd of approximately 850 dairy cows and an agricultural area of 357 hectares, reflecting our dedication to the farming life.
Our work revolves around combining classic farming methods with new technology to ensure both productive and environmentally responsible agriculture.
At Årslevgård, we prioritize a strong connection to the local community. We strive to create an environment where the community can engage in farm life, learn about farming practices, and understand the importance of sustainable food production.
This commitment manifests in various initiatives and partnerships with local educational institutions and organizations. Our forest area is also an essential element at Årslevgård. This area is not only part of our responsibility to nature but also a place for recreational use and educational activities. We focus on preserving and promoting biodiversity in this area, contributing to a healthier and more balanced environment.
We understand the importance of keeping up with the times and continually improving our methods and techniques. Therefore, we are always open to innovation and new ideas that can enhance our operations and minimize our environmental footprint.
Our long-term vision is to expand our reach and continue contributing to a more sustainable future for agriculture.

Meet Annemette - Our Operations Manager
We are proud to introduce Annemette as our operations manager here at Årslevgård Farm in Rødekro. With contagious enthusiasm and a passion for cattle farming, Annemette is ready to take the reins and lead our farm into a new era with a focus on animal welfare, collaboration, and openness.
"Yes, well hello, my name is Annemette. I am the new operations manager here at our farm in Rødekro," she introduces herself with a smile. Annemette lives in Højer with her husband and their three children, aged 18, 17, and 12. Now that the children are older, she has more time to dedicate to her work on the farm.
Annemette is not just a passionate operations manager; she is also deeply involved in the local community, where she serves on the board of the local community center. Cooking is another great interest of hers, but it is especially the welfare of the cows that makes her heart beat faster.
"I care immensely about cows and their welfare, so that's where my heart truly lies."

At Årslevgård, there are currently 850 cows being milked in our modern Dairymaster milking parlor. Annemette leads a team of nine dedicated employees, and her leadership style is focused on motivation and shared direction. "As a leader, I try to motivate my team as best as I can and ensure that we all work in the same direction because that's how we achieve our goals."
Her vision is clear: "My vision is that the cows should be well taken care of, because then we get more milk from them. I am a strong advocate for animal welfare. That's my approach to cattle farming, so the better we can do for the animals, the better it is for us humans."
Openness is also a core value for Annemette. She hopes to invite consumers to the farm, possibly through an open farm event. "I really like having an open barn. So in the long term, I hope that we can create a setting where people always feel welcome to come and see the cows, pet the calves, and yes, be a part of our farm."
Danish agriculture is facing an exciting but uncertain time with possible climate taxes. However, Annemette remains optimistic: "I definitely hope that we all get through it well. We can only do our best to become even more skilled and better at taking care of our environment." At Årslevgård, they are closely following Arla's new system, a system that rewards farmers for their skills and environmental efforts. "We are following this closely and constantly trying to optimize, so we are always on our toes and aiming to be among the best in Denmark."
Our Green Initiatives at Årslevgård
At Årslevgård Farm, we are deeply committed to reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future. A significant part of our efforts involves establishing green initiatives that help us preserve nature and promote biodiversity on the farm. We have, among other things, created a forest and a mini-wetland, where we actively plant trees and work to create a healthy and balanced ecosystem.
These areas are not only crucial for the well-being of nature, but they also serve as recreational and educational resources for the local community. We do everything, and a little more, to minimize our carbon footprint. This also includes integrating environmentally friendly methods and technologies into our daily operations to ensure that we can continue farming in a way that respects and protects our environment."
